Welcome
March 29th, 2008 by lucasjsWelcome to the SED Congregations Ablaze! blog! This blog is intended to be a place for congregations and members of the Southeastern District (SED) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) to discuss and exchange tools, views, and experiences relating to the Ablaze! movement. A more complete “official” definition of Ablaze! can be found on the Ablaze page of the LCMS web site. In a nutshell, Ablaze is an effort to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to 100 million unchurched or uncommitted individuals by the year 2017 (the 500th anniversary of the Reformation). Other Christians may find the material / discussions here useful in their own evangelism / outreach efforts.
The SED consists of 215 congregations and missions, as well as 95 schools spread throughout 6 states and the District of Columbia. This is an attempt to link as many of these as possible with each other as well as with the District office.
This site is an open, but moderated forum. Anyone can join and then originate posts or comment on the posts written by others, but material will be reviewed before it appears on the site.
