National Lutheran Schools Week – Tuesday

A School Note
Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Blessed day to you. Today we give thanks for each student. As they learn about Jesus, they share him with others: family and friends, and the light of the Gospel shines through them. We even see direct results of this. Of those schools reporting in from last year, 86 children and 94 adults were baptized as a result of attending a Lutheran School. Praise God for this outreach ministry that shapes lives in every way.

From Principal Judy Sykes
Trinity, Norfolk VA

A mom, who is a Brownie troop leader shared this with me. During their meeting on Tuesday evening, there was a discussion about things that light can do. Her 1st grade daughter said “I know; it can lead you to Jesus!” Mom was so proud and knew that her answer was a direct result of her attendance at Trinity Lutheran School.

Dear Jesus, Let your light continue to shine throughout the classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and parking lots of our schools. May your Word be clearly proclaimed everyday. We pray for our students and their families that as they learn about you, faith is nurtured. In your name we pray. Amen.
