Welcome

Welcome to the SED Congregations Ablaze! blog! This blog is intended to be a place for congregations and members of the Southeastern District (SED) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) to discuss and exchange tools, views, and experiences relating to the Ablaze! movement. A more complete “official” definition of Ablaze! can be found on the What is Ablaze page of the LCMS web site. In a nutshell, Ablaze is an effort to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to 100 million unchurched or uncommitted individuals by the year 2017 (the 500th anniversary of the Reformation). Other Christians may find the material / discussions here useful in their own evangelism / outreach efforts and are invited to participate.

The SED consists of 215 congregations and missions, as well as 95 schools spread throughout 6 states and the District of Columbia (hence the acronyms). This is an attempt to link as many of these as possible with each other as well as with the District office. The District has set Ablaze!-goals for it’s participation in Ablaze!
